What would require me to use an Electrician for installing interior lighting?
Good question! There are local regulations that limit the amount of DIY work a homeowner can do to their home when it comes to electrical. It is always best to contact a LICENSED electrician to confirm if what you are installing requires a LICENSED electrician, or if it's something you can tackle on your own. Adding additional wiring, adding a fixture where there wasn't one prior, needing to add an additional outlet or switch to support the lighting - those are all reasons to contact a LICENSED electrician and will likely require a permit depending on your local regulations.
If you are unsure about your capacity to work with electrical components, PLEASE contact a LICENSED electrician to assist you with your project. Electrical work is hazardous and mishandling electricity can result in very serious consequences. Further, having a LICENSED electrician ensures you are meeting local regulations, keeping yourself and your family safe from hazards, and prevents you from accumulating hefty fines and stop work orders from local ordinances for unlicensed work.
Do you offer a warranty or insurance?
YES! We offer a 1 year warranty on all labor. If at any time your lighting stops working and it is because of anything that we did - we repair for free! However, if you have tried to repair yourself or hired an unlicensed person to attempt to repair, that warranty is invalid. For the actual fixture itself, we don't offer a warranty. That is up to the manufacturer of that lighting fixture. In most instances, the fixture has to be installed by a LICENSED electrician for the warranty on that item to be valid. Always check the stipulations of the warranty before installation to be sure you are following all of the guidelines for that manufacturer.
Do you offer lighting design services?
We can assist in offering our opinions on the best lighting options for the space you have in mind. This may include a style of light, wattage for bulbs, type of fixtures for efficiency, etc. However, when it comes to the actual design we can recommend some great interior designers that we trust to assist you.
